What is the buraku issue?

The burakumin are a socially constructed and discriminated minority in Japan based on ostracised groups during the feudal class system of the Edo Period (1603-1867). 

Despite the abolishment of the class system, the buraku issue - the discrimination the burakumin face - still exists to this date
